Property taxes are too high; that burden falls on Hampton homeowners and renters. Ward will work to ensure that state funding decisions are not shifted onto local property owners.

Good schools educate children and are the heart of a healthy town. From an economic standpoint, good schools protect our property values. Ward understands the state has an obligation to fund public education properly – a responsibility that the state shirks. Ward will vote for the state to meet its financial responsibilities so that Hampton families will not have to choose between their tax bills and their kids' classrooms.

Hampton is growing. Ward knows that growth done right means planning for roads, water, infrastructure, and the kinds of neighborhoods that make people want to stay.
